The ForeverCon Cosplay Contest is a celebration of pop culture and the craft of cosplay. It is a craftsmanship award show with a pre-judging session and a stage display. All entries must represent a character or element from the pop culture realm. Competitors will be evaluated on the below elements for the competition, regardless of which skill category competitors compete in.
Needlework: Cosplay elements constructed through sewing, stitching, and embroidery.
Construction: Cosplay elements constructed by molding and shaping outer layers using acrylic, EVA foam, Worbla, Wonderflex, cardboard, etc.
Props and FX: Cosplay elements that features props, animatronics, optical effects, mechanical effects, practical effects, etc.
Makeup: Cosplay elements which feature special effects makeup.
On Stage Performance: Overall presentation of the cosplay including during the on stage performance segment.
Each entrant will submit an application to be reviewed by the ForeverCon team – entrants may only enter one costume into the competition. Early applications are greatly appreciated, however, applications will be accepted on the day of the event via the link below. If approved, accepted contestants will be contacted by the ForeverCon team and will advance on to the competition stage of the ForeverCon Cosplay Contest. Contestants will be judged on the quality and craftsmanship of their costumes and onstage performance on the day of the event.

Master
First Place: $100 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics and “Master” Trophy
Second Place: $50 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
Third Place: $25 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
If you have previously won a Cosplay award, you, my friend, are a master of the realm.
Apprentice
First Place: $50 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics and “Apprentice” Trophy
Second Place: $25 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
Third Place: $10 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
If this is your first Cosplay experience or you have never won a Cosplay award, this is your division.
Youth
First Place: $25 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics and “Youth” Trophy
Second Place: $10 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
Third Place: $5 Gift Certificate to Mile High Comics
This is your division if you are under the age of 15 and do not qualify for Master category.
Important information for participants of the Cosplay Contest
No sandbagging (using a costume you won with at a different contest.)
Costumes can’t be obscene or insulting, nor inspire hatred. Nudity is not allowed as well.
All solo contestants are able to perform an act of a maximum of 60 seconds, but acts are not required.
The act will be judged on both the costume and the performance as detailed above.
Handmade cosplays are highly encouraged but not mandatory. During pre-selection the contestants have to explain which parts are custom-made and which parts are store-bought. Commissioned costume need to be identified as such and the creator must be credited.
Genderbend cosplay is encouraged!
Judges reserve the right to disqualify participants for any reason, at any time.

The jury consists of subject matter experts who will judge the contestants on both their costumes and acts.
