The term 'logistics' comes from the late 19th century French word logistique, which is derived from 'loger,' meaning to lodge. Historically, the idea of logistics is considered to have originated sometime around the Hellenistic period of Alexander the Great, to meet his vast military's need to supply itself with arms, ammunition, and rations as it moved from various bases of operations to forward positions across the vast expanse that was the Macedon Empire. In fact, for centuries throughout the ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine empires after Alexander's death, military officers with the title 'Logistikas' were responsible for supply distribution matters, and sometimes heralded as important as even the military Generals and Commanders, themselves.

So, how did Alexander become so... Great?  Well, Alexander or 'Aléxandros ho Mégasiii' from the Greek ἀλέξω ἀνήρ (to defend and help man) was tutored by Aristotle until the age of 16, in the matters of physics, metaphysics, psychology, logic, rhetoric, linguistics, politics, government, ethics, and even biology, and zoology. Apparently, Alexander took his polymath mentors's teachings to heart, for by the age of thirty, Alexander had created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from the Ionian Sea to the Himalayas. In addition, as I'm sure you have heard, Alexander, or 'The Defender of Man,' was also undefeated in battle and is considered one of history's most successful military commanders. It is undisputed by historians that Alexander's mentor relationship with Aristotle was directly related to his vast success.

So, I hear you asking, "What does philosophy, educational mentorship, military conquest and information distribution have to do with Apotheosis Studios?" Well, honestly, more than you would think. Unfortunately, however, you will have to wait until you can read Mindra's Haven and The Illusive Diamond for the full answer. But, the short answer is that Alexander the Great was not just a bad-ass, but also really freaking smart in how he utilized and disseminated information, and this is strikingly similar to our new website and Apotheosis Studios, itself, really.

So, by standing on the shoulders of one of histories greatest leaders, (arguably THE greatest) we have totally revamped our website to bring you elegance in the form of informational logistics. In addition, Alexander, who's name is strikingly similar to Aleksei, was, as I mentioned, tutored by Aristotle himself, one of the greatest philosophers of the Ancient World. This leads us to another exciting Apotheosis Studios announcement regarding one of the greatest philosophers of OUR time: Apotheosis Studios has just recently forged a new creative alliance with The IDM Metaphysics! While at the moment, we can only share sparse few details pertaining to this exciting relationship (which can seen on The IDM Metaphysics tab of our website) we will keep you updated right here on this blog!

So, much like Alexander the Great, who sought to reach the "ends of the world and the Great Outer Sea beyond," We, of Apotheosis Studios, will bring you on a journey which delves not just into the great ocean of stars above, but also probe within the very depths of the human mind and heart. If that is not Numinous, we do not know what is!
